We want to thank and acknowledge David Moran and Jean Smith for the amazing work that they have done in creating the spectacular mural on the wall in our main yard. David and Jean designed, created and painted the amazing scene that has really helped to brighten up our outside space and make it so much more welcoming and inviting.
As they started from painting over the old wall , designing the new one in the dark, loading the trolley with paint , discussing the colours and the progression over the months.
Through the rain, the scorching sun, late evenings and weekends, David and Jean have now put the final touches to an incredible mural that will live long in the memories of every member of our school community.
David and Jean were helped by an amazing team of parents who also volunteered their time and talents to help bring this beautiful artwork to life. A particular word of thanks to Renata Mentene Morrissey, Hana Karetova, Emma Lumsden, Sahara Vasquez, Roisín Moriarty and Colm Tyrrell. Apologies if I have forgotten anyone!
Thanks also to Price Waterhouse Cooper, Heritage Credit Union Harold’s Cross and Tesco Terenure who provided funding for the paint and supplies that were needed for the project.
Our school caretaker, and parent, Keith, wrote a song to say thank you, which was performed by the whole school at both assemblies. Thanks to Keith for writing, performing the song, and for making the video. Keith has shared the YouTube link which can be found here:
