Our Outside Space

The Big Dig

Here in Harold’s Cross NS we are very proud of our actual dig site which is used as part of our eight week archaeology module  where our third class students learn all about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Viking Times in Ireland with Mark Kelly (or “Mark the Archaeologist” as he is know to our senior students!)

The Viking House

We have a replica of a Viking House which was built on the school grounds.  This will feed into our history programme and will be an integral part of our teaching.

The School Garden

The school garden produces loads of fruit and vegetables throughout the year. We hope that all the children are gaining an understanding of the value of growing your own food and the fun that can be got from doing so.

Santry Success

All our supporters were jumping and screaming with joy as the first ever cup was being brought back to our school. It was some achievement for the boys to be placed first out of 31 schools within this category. Each of the 22 team members had a part to play in this success as we had trained together as a team for the month of May encouraging each other, pushing each other to run faster to beat each other at the end line on our school astro.

We are so proud of all the athletes as they represented the school and themselves so well on the day. I hope we have as many enthusiastic athletes trying out.
