We have had a busy month of September and Second Class 2 have settled back very well into school life. We enjoyed using Golden Time to relax, have some fun and get reacquainted with our classmates.

This month we focused on addition by combining and partitioning sets. The class also explored, developed and applied the zero properties of addition. For Mental Maths challenge the children enjoyed playing ‘Noggle’. Using our whiteboards, we had to find and record as many combinations as we could to make a target number.

This month as part of the Outdoor and Adventure Strand, we worked in pairs to understand the concept of a map or plan using symbols and a key. The aim of this activity was to develop spatial awareness of the relationship of shapes to each other by transferring information on a plan into reality. Here we are in action!
